Why Robinswood Golf Club matters
~2 min read
Robinswood Golf Club opened to its founding membership in 2023 as the centrepiece of Reignwood Park — an 800-acre luxury estate in Lam Luk Ka, Pathum Thani. At 7,597 yards from the back tees, with a par of 72 and a slope rating of 130, it is among the longest and most demanding new courses in Southeast Asia, and one of the most deliberately exclusive.
The course was conceived by Ixora Design in collaboration with the Reignwood Group's design team, whose brief was to create a private members' experience that equalled the best in the world. The result draws on familiar parkland tropes — tree-lined corridors, sculpted water features, multi-tiered greens — but pushes them to a degree of theatrical intensity that reflects the development around it. Six themed cultural mansions ring the property. The clubhouse is described, without apparent understatement, as a building of imposing majesty. An on-site onsen, a golf gallery, and the first Claude Harmon III Performance Academy in Thailand round out the amenities.
On the ground, the course alternates between stretches of tree-framed parkland and open zones dominated by lakes and engineered hazards. The front nine establishes tone early: the par-4 second plays long into a prevailing headwind; the third stretches to 639 yards from the championship tees; the 5th announces itself with a waterfall that doubles as a landmark and a psychological interruption. The back nine tightens the screws. Water threatens the second and third shots on the par-5 8th; the 11th presents the rare gambit of two separate greens; and the 12th — known as The Castle — plants an apple-shaped island green in the middle of a lake.
Access is strictly private. Membership is drawn from a small and carefully selected pool, with fees widely reported as reaching into the millions of baht. Non-members may play only as a guest of a current member, and even then the experience — caddy, cart, and a green fee in the region of 6,700 THB — is curated to match the register of the club itself. For those within reach, Robinswood represents a vision of what 21st-century private golf in Asia can look like when budget is treated as a starting point rather than a constraint.
THE DESIGN
Theatrical parkland
Ixora Design and the Reignwood Group shaped 800 acres into a course where every hole carries a deliberate visual statement — waterfalls, sculpted lakes, and ornamental gardens built into the playing experience.
THE WATER
Water everywhere
Lakes, carries, and lakeside greens appear throughout both nines. The 7th and 12th demand full carries over water; the 8th tests nerve on consecutive approach shots with a green perched above a lake.
THE LENGTH
Seven thousand, five hundred yards
At 7,597 yards from the championship tees, Robinswood rewards big hitters but punishes those who confuse power with accuracy. Three par 5s exceed 600 yards; the par 4s are consistently long.
THE SETTING
A private estate
The course sits within the Reignwood Park development, surrounded by luxury villas, cultural mansions, and an award-winning clubhouse — an integrated lifestyle environment rather than a standalone golf facility.

How do I get to Robinswood from Bangkok or the airports?
The club is located in Lam Luk Ka, Pathum Thani, approximately 60 minutes from central Bangkok and 30–45 minutes from either Suvarnabhumi (BKK) or Don Mueang (DMK) airport. Where should I stay near Robinswood?
The Reignwood Park development includes on-site luxury villas and hotel accommodation, which is the natural choice for members and guests who wish to immerse themselves in the estate. More affordable options — including Honey Inn and Lux Inn — are available locally, while larger international hotels cluster around the Suvarnabhumi and Don Mueang airport corridors, roughly 30–40 minutes away.
How hard is the course, and how long does a round take?
At 7,597 yards from the championship tees with a slope rating of 130 and a course rating of 72.5, Robinswood is a genuinely demanding test. Several par 4s exceed 450 yards and three par 5s stretch beyond 600. The private-club caddy policy and course conditioning mean pace of play is typically well managed for a course of this scale.
