Driver setup in three moves. Filmed by golf.studio.

A driver setup sequence is a repeatable, step-by-step procedure used to align the body and ball to maximize power and launch angle. Designed for golfers of all levels—from high handicappers struggling with contact to low-digit players seeking surgical precision—this sequence eliminates the guesswork that leads to inconsistent strikes. Most golfers simply walk up to the ball, shuffle their feet, and hope for the best, but that "random" approach is exactly why your drive ends up in the trees on th

Why should I start with my feet together for a driver setup?

Starting with your feet together provides a consistent 'zero point.' It ensures the ball is perfectly centered before you move your feet, making your final ball position repeatable every single time you tee off.

How far forward should the ball actually be in my stance?

For the driver, the ball should be positioned off the inside of your lead heel. The Meandmygolf sequence achieves this automatically by having you step your trail foot back while keeping the lead foot relatively stationary.

Does flaring the lead foot really make a difference?

Yes. Flaring the lead foot toward the target reduces resistance in the lead hip, allowing for a more complete rotation and a more efficient weight shift during the downswing.
