TERMS IX #britgolfdad #golfswing #golf #golftechnique
Brit Golf Dad defines the term 'closed' as it applies to both body alignment and club face angle. He explains traditional uses with the driver as well as practical applications, such as adjusting for shots when the ball is below your feet or fighting strong winds.
A closed body alignment means the feet and shoulder lines aim to the right of the target line (for right-handed golfers).
A closed club face means the leading edge and face lines are turned slightly left (toward 11 o'clock).
Closing the club face helps compensate when the ball is below your feet, as that lie naturally tends to send the ball to the right.
Closing the face and moving the ball back in the stance produces a lower trajectory that resists windy conditions.
