Why You Can't Hit Driver Straight or As Far As You Could - Simply Do This
PGA Instructor Danny Maude explains how to hit the driver straighter and further by mastering 'low point control.' He demonstrates how to use a simple cardboard box to feel the correct impact position and introduces a 'push back' lead leg movement to generate effortless speed without losing accuracy.
The low point of the driver arc is located directly under the lead shoulder.
Controlling where the club hits the bottom of its circle is the key to fixing slices and thin shots.
Instead of trying to rotate the hips, focus on pushing the lead hip straight back to catapult the club through impact.
Moving the ball further forward (toward the little toe) increases launch height but will cause the ball to start more to the left.
Keep forearms level at setup to prevent excessive leaning and poor shoulder alignment.
