Golfers Over 50: Use THIS “Cheat Move” to Start Outdriving Your Buddies
Craig Jones from Face First Golf demonstrates simple setup 'cheat moves' to help senior golfers maximize distance without increasing swing speed. By combining a strong-face setup, a closed-face grip, and a dropped trail foot, golfers can easily correct an over-the-top path and achieve a powerful draw. The video also covers how to adapt these setup adjustments for iron shots.
Set the clubface a few degrees left of your target line at address before gripping the club.
Adopt a strong grip with 3 to 4 knuckles visible on your lead hand and the lead-hand V pointing toward your trail shoulder.
Drop your trail foot back at address to square your shoulders and promote an inside swing path.
Apply the same setup adjustments to irons, but make the foot drop less exaggerated and keep the ball centered in your stance.
