What It Takes to Square the Clubface at Impact (SO EASY!) | Drop 10 Shots Series (Ep. 2)
PGA coach Golf with Aimee teaches how to consistently square the clubface at impact by focusing on the post-impact position. Through a two-step drill progression using a split grip, a light soccer ball, and trail-hand swings, golfers learn to control the release and eliminate big slices and hooks.
Focus on post-impact (about 3 feet past the ball with the club toe pointing toward/45° right of the target) to ensure a square face at impact.
Practice the Split Grip Soccer Ball Drill with 3 pumps to feel weight shift, staying low, lag, and trail wrist release.
Isolate the release feel using trail-hand-only swings to learn how the trail hand pushes the club toe square.
Build the post-impact feel into full swings starting at 30% speed and gradually ramping up to 100% speed.
