This Drill Is Controversial... But It Makes You 2 Clubs Longer
In this video, JChownGolf introduces the 'Ragdoll Drill,' a technique designed to add up to two clubs of distance by eliminating arm tension. By using a near-zero grip pressure, golfers are forced to use body rotation and proper sequencing to propel the club, leading to more efficient speed and better face control.
Use a grip pressure of 0.5/10 to disconnect the 'rushing' arms and engage the larger body muscles.
Practice in sets of five: perform three 'ragdoll' swings followed by two normal swings to internalize the feel.
The drill helps fix 'over the top' moves and 'stalling' rotation by making the body the primary engine of the swing.
This drill is applicable to both irons and the driver to improve rhythm and smash factor.
Don't worry about head movement or strike quality during the drill itself; focus purely on the sensation of effortless rotation.
