PGA professional Mark Crossfield demonstrates how to cure a driver or iron slice by correcting trail hand grip position and shoulder alignment at setup. He explains the relationship between wrist angles and club path, demonstrates wedge bounce dynamics, and provides drills to lock in an inside-out swing.
Strengthen a weak trail hand grip by aligning the V between your thumb and forefinger toward your right shoulder.
Drop your trail shoulder back at address so your shoulder line points parallel to or slightly right of your target line.
Keep your lead wrist flat to maintain control of the clubface while changing your swing path.
Wedge bounce is dynamic: leaning the shaft forward decreases effective bounce, while opening the clubface increases bounce.
Use the Step Back Drill or Split Hand Drill to feel an inside-out path and eliminate an over-the-top swing.
