She Couldn’t Strike the Ball Consistently… Until We Fixed This Backswing Move
In this live lesson, Meandmygolf instructors fix a student's reverse pivot and open clubface by training proper trail-side loading in the backswing. By turning into the trail hip instead of sliding toward the target, the student achieved consistent low-point contact, squared the clubface, and gained 10 mph in clubhead speed.
Avoid shifting your lead hip target-side during the backswing, which creates a reverse pivot and leads to fat or thin strikes.
Rotate into your trail hip and foot during the backswing to properly coil your upper body and store power.
Allow the toe of the clubhead to pass the heel through impact (proper face release) to prevent shots leaking right.
Use intentional practice swings before each shot to reinforce new motor patterns and balance control.
