This Drill FIXES Your Grip, Wrist Angle & Clubface FAST
PGA Instructor Scott Yurgalevicz demonstrates how to match your lead hand grip (strong, neutral, or weak) with the correct wrist angle at the top of the backswing. He introduces the Clothes Hanger Drill as a tactile way to feel whether your wrist should be cupped, flat, or bowed to maintain a square clubface and improve ball striking.
A strong grip requires a slightly cupped lead wrist at the top to keep the clubface neutral.
A neutral grip (Adam Scott style) pairs best with a flat lead wrist at the top of the swing.
A weak grip requires significant wrist flexion (bowing) to prevent the clubface from being too open.
Mismatches—such as a strong grip with a flat wrist—often lead to hooks and low-launching toe shots.
Use a standard plastic clothes hanger as a training aid to provide immediate feedback on wrist position.
