Draw The Golf Ball GUARANTEED With These Simple Tips
Adam Bazalgette of Scratch Golf Academy explains how to hit a consistent draw with irons by mastering the relationship between club path and face angle. He provides customizable options, such as adjusting ball position and body alignment, to help golfers of all flexibility levels achieve a right-to-left ball flight.
To hit a draw, the swing path must be moving to the right of the target line at impact (for right-handed golfers).
The club face must be closed relative to the swing path, but slightly open or square to the target line to avoid a 'slinger' hook.
Playing the ball slightly back in your stance makes it easier to strike the ball on the outward part of the swing arc.
Golfers with limited flexibility can achieve a draw more easily by aiming their body slightly to the right of the target.
The golf ball reacts to the club face and path at impact, not directly to your grip or setup, so experiment to find what works for your swing.
