In this video, Clay Ballard from Top Speed Golf details the exact timing and percentage of foot pressure shift during the golf swing. He demonstrates how pressure should load into the inside of the trail heel early in the backswing and begin moving to the lead side before reaching the top of the swing. Clay also showcases the Ball First Board as a feedback tool to prevent swaying and improve rotation.
Load 90% of pressure into the inside of your trail heel by the time the lead arm reaches parallel to prevent hip sway.
Begin shifting pressure to the lead foot (60/40 split) before completing the backswing, rather than waiting for the downswing.
Increase lead leg pressure to 80%+ during the downswing to enable proper hip rotation and maximize speed.
Keep weight on the inside edge of the trail foot to avoid sliding hips laterally outward.
