One of the Major Influences in Your Golf Swing - THE PRAYER GRIP
Warren Bennett presents the Prayer Grip drill to help golfers experience proper transition mechanics and club shallowing. By taking hands through body-only and step-by-step club rehearsals, this exercise educates wrist re-rotation to eliminate over-the-top moves and improve release alignment at impact.
Start without a club in a prayer hand position to feel wrists and forearms re-rotating in early transition.
Allow the right elbow to move toward the torso while the right palm turns upward to drop the club into the slot.
From halfway down, time the hand release back to square at impact while keeping your head still and driving the trail knee forward.
Progress from static body rehearsals to stop-and-go drills, slow-motion continuous swings, and full-speed shots.
