Why you always want to hit the sweetspot!

PGA Professional Tom Blanckaert from We Play Golf demonstrates the difference between hitting the golf ball on the sweet spot versus an off-center toe strike. Using an indoor golf simulator, he illustrates how hitting the toe causes the clubface to twist open and send the ball far right, stressing the importance of center-face contact.

• Off-center contact on the toe causes the clubface to twist open in your hands, pushing the ball to the right.
• Golfers often misattribute off-center misses to wrist mechanics rather than simply failing to strike the sweet spot.
• Using simulator camera feedback or impact indicators helps identify accurate face contact.
• Maintaining good balance and swing rhythm is key to consistently striking the sweet spot.
