Developing finesse and control in just 10 minutes!
In this short-game session, PGA-certified coach Dan Grieve works with tour representative and professional golfer Ash Mason to eliminate chipping tension and handle-dragging. Dan introduces his signature thumbs-off release drill to reduce grip pressure, restore soft hands, and allow the sole of the club to glide properly through impact.
Soften physical tension across your chest, arms, and fingertips before setting up over chip shots.
Avoid arching the lead wrist back, which closes the face and traps the club behind your body.
Practice hitting chips with your thumbs lifted off the grip to prevent dragging the handle through impact.
Allow the butt of the club to return toward your lead hip through follow-through so the bounce can interact properly with the turf.
