PGA Master Professional Dan Grieve demonstrates how to play a high-spinning toe-down lob shot from tight, compact lies using a 60-degree wedge. By positioning the club toe-down and swinging slightly out-to-in across the ball, golfers can generate high spin and soft landings out of difficult lies.
Set up with your 60-degree wedge toe-down (heel raised) when facing tight or compact lies.
Swing on an out-to-in path across the target line to cut under the ball smoothly.
Strike down firmly into the turf, allowing the club sole camber to glide without digging.
Use this shot to produce maximum spin and elevation from severe short-game lies.
