STOP Rushing YOUR Downswing And HIT you LONGEST Drives YET!!
PGA Professionals James Robinson and Chris Dennis from Get Good At Golf demonstrate how to eliminate a push-slice by improving downswing sequencing. The tutorial focuses on adjusting ball position, maintaining sternum alignment, and implementing a slight pause at the top of the backswing to allow the lower body to lead the transition.
Move your ball position slightly back from the extreme front (left toe) to help the club path move from the inside.
Keep your sternum behind the golf ball through impact to ensure a high launch and low spin.
Ensure your back fully rotates to face the target to create space for a shallower downswing.
Implement a slight pause at the top of the backswing to stop 'rushing' and allow the hips to fire first.
To hit a draw, the clubface must be open to the target line but closed relative to the swing path.
