Stop Guessing Your Chips! This Data Changes Everything!
In this video, PGA-certified instructor Golf with Aimee compares leading-edge chipping with tour-style bounce chipping using launch monitor data. She explains how proper setup, neutral hands, and utilizing the wedge's bounce produce higher launch, consistent spin, and predictable carry-to-run ratios. Aimee demonstrates a single-handed drill to help golfers master the body-driven release pattern.
Utilize the bounce of your wedge rather than leaning the shaft far forward and digging with the leading edge.
Set up with a narrow stance (one fist width between feet), 60% of weight on the lead foot, and neutral hand position.
Position the ball in the middle or slightly forward of center to ensure the club bottoms out properly.
Practice a release pattern where the clubface stays facing the sky post-impact, driven by body turn rather than hands.
