Most Golfers Don’t Know These 3 Short Game Shots...
Hannah Holden demonstrates three effective short game shots designed for hard, firm turf and tight lies. She breaks down setup adjustments, ball position, shaft lean, and wrist control to help golfers eliminate fat and thin shots around the green.
For tight lie pitch shots, select a lower lofted wedge (e.g. 52° or 56°) and feel like you maintain straight wrists through impact to reduce turf interaction errors.
To play a low running shot from a tight lie, place the ball back in your stance, deloft a higher-lofted wedge, and use forward shaft lean for predictable rollout.
When extra loft is needed from firm ground, open the clubface moderately, commit weight to your lead side, and feel soft hands while keeping the swing controlled.
