Don’t Fire Your Hips Until Your Hands Do This First!!
PGA coach Kerrod Gray and Alex Riggs demonstrate how to eliminate casting and improve compression on iron shots. By keeping the hands in front of the chest and properly extending the trail arm down into impact, golfers can align the lead arm with the lead leg for cleaner ball-first strikes.
Ensure your lead arm and lead leg align vertically at impact to create proper shaft lean.
Avoid rotating the hips violently if the arms and hands remain stuck behind the body.
Feel the trail hand pushing down toward impact to extend the trail arm and widen the swing arc.
Use the towel drill under the trail armpit to build feedback for maintaining width and proper hand path.
