In this video, PGA instructor Kerrod Gray demonstrates the Stick Sequence Drill to help golfers eliminate over-the-top motion and fix their downswing sequence. By placing alignment sticks through the belt loops and across the shoulders, players learn how lower-body rotation leads the transition for an inside club path.
Place one alignment stick through your belt loops and hold another across your shoulders.
Initiate the downswing with lower-body rotation so the hip stick leads before the upper body.
Allow the shoulder stick to touch the hip stick to confirm proper sequencing and side bend.
Correct sequencing prevents upper-body spinning and produces an inside club path for longer, straighter shots.
