PGA instructor Kirk Junge demonstrates how to hit high lob wedge and flop shots using his Setup 4 Impact technique. By opening the clubface 25 to 30 degrees prior to taking the grip and maintaining lead hand alignment, golfers can elevate trajectory without hand manipulation. • Use your highest lofted wedge (58° to 60°+) and open the clubface 25–30° before gripping the club.
• Maintain an uncocked wrist setup aligned with the trailing arm plane to simplify contact.
• Rely on body rotation for waist-high to waist-high swings rather than flipping or manipulating the wrists.
• For an ultra-high emergency flop shot, move the ball forward in the stance and allow an early release off a good lie.
