He Couldn’t Believe How Quickly His Ball Striking Improved
In this 41-minute coaching session from Meandmygolf, instructor Andy Proudman helps a beginner student improve his ball striking and eliminate his slice. The video covers fixing posture and hand-space at address, proper clubhead release to prevent chicken-winging, and driver setup adjustments to break 100.
Hinge forward from the hips and maintain a hand-span gap between your body and club handle to prevent heel and hosel strikes.
Allow the lead forearm to rotate and fold naturally through impact to properly release the clubface instead of holding it open.
Finish every iron swing with 99% of your weight balanced over your lead foot to ensure crisp contact past the ball.
For driver setup, position the ball forward in a wider stance and drop your trail shoulder slightly back and low to hit up on the ball.
