Do you "SHIFT" your weight? You may want to watch this! #golf #scottyurgzgolf #golfswing
In this short instructional video, Scott Yurgz explains the dynamic nature of weight transfer in the golf swing. He clarifies that the weight should begin moving toward the target as early as P2 (club parallel to the ground), creating a 'slingshot effect' similar to a baseball pitcher's delivery.
Weight transfer to the lead side should begin while the backswing is still in progress.
By the time the club reaches parallel to the ground (P2), the weight should already be transitioning forward.
Avoid a 'stop-and-start' motion; the backswing and downswing should be blended together.
Use the 'pitcher's analogy': move your body toward the target as the arm (or club) continues its backward momentum for maximum power.
