Unlock 20 Extra Yards with This Game-Changing Drag It Drill
PGA Coach Scott Yurgz introduces the 'Drag It Drill' to help golfers achieve a more positive angle of attack and an in-to-out club path. By starting the club behind the trail foot and dragging it through the impact zone, players learn to swing 'up and out,' which is essential for maximizing distance with slower swing speeds.
Position the golf ball forward in your stance with a slight trail shoulder tilt at setup.
Perform the 'Drag It Drill' by placing the clubhead outside your trail foot and dragging it forward toward the target.
Focus on the feeling of the club traveling 'Up and Out' once it reaches the center of your stance.
Ensure your hips move slightly forward during the drag to prevent the arms from 'folding' in defense mode.
Aim for a positive angle of attack (up to 6 degrees up) to maximize distance for slower swing speeds.
