Flop Shot

Clay Ballard from Top Speed Golf demonstrates the execution of a flop shot, a high-lofted wedge shot designed to stop quickly on the green. This visual demonstration highlights the trajectory and impact required to master this impressive recovery shot.

• Use a high-lofted wedge with an open clubface to maximize height.
• A wider stance and lower center of gravity help maintain stability during the swing.
• Commit to a full, aggressive swing even for short distances to generate the necessary loft.
• The flop shot is ideal for 'short-sided' situations where you have little green to work with.
