PGA coach Chris Ryan explains three essential adjustments to hit higher, softer shots around the green. By opening the clubface, lowering the grip at setup, and letting the clubhead overtake the hands through impact, golfers can easily launch high flop shots.
Open the clubface significantly away from the target before taking your grip.
Stand slightly further back and drop the hands lower to the ground to shallow out the swing path.
Allow the clubhead to overtake the hands quickly through impact to narrow the forward arc and maximize trajectory.
