STOP Trying To Get The Club In Front Of You In The Downswing (DO THIS Instead!)
In this video, PGA-certified instructor Milo Lines explains why golfers should avoid trying to force the club in front of their body during the downswing. He demonstrates how keeping the club to your right at P6 allows for natural body rotation and athletic speed, preventing pulls and fat shots. Milo provides specific feels and drills to help golfers refine their downswing sequence and hit straighter, more powerful shots.
Avoid trying to push or pull the golf club out in front of your chest early in the downswing.
At P6 (shaft parallel to the ground), the club head should remain to your right while your chest and hips rotate open.
Allowing the club to lower parallel to your chest lets you rotate aggressively into impact without early extension.
Use trail-arm swings and club-throwing motion feels to develop an athletic, dynamic release.
