Most Golfers Focus On Impact... That's Why Driver Feels So Hard
Chris Ryan explains why focusing solely on impact can ruin your driver swing and demonstrates how simplifying the backswing leads to effortless consistency. By separating body turn/tilt from arm lift and using simple alignment stick drills, golfers can achieve an ideal top-of-backswing position and eliminate slicing.
The backswing is composed of two primary movements: body rotation with tilt, and vertical arm lift.
Maintain proper shoulder and spine tilt by pushing your trail hip back and lowering your lead shoulder during the backswing.
Avoid swinging arms around the body in the backswing; lift them up over the trail shoulder while the body rotates.
In the downswing, allow the arms to drop relative to the body while rotating toward the target to deliver the club from the inside.
