You CAN’T Cheat This Drill… It STOPS You STANDING UP For Good!
PGA coaches Kerrod Gray and Alex Riggs demonstrate an alignment stick connection drill designed to eliminate early extension in the downswing. By keeping the stick against the lead arm into impact, golfers learn to stay in posture, compress the ball, and avoid throwing or flipping the club.
Place an alignment stick across your chest and under your trail armpit to feel chest-to-arm synchronization.
Maintain contact between the stick and your lead arm as long as possible during the downswing to prevent standing up early.
Expect the stick to naturally slide off around or just after impact into the follow-through.
Practice at 50% swing speed when hitting golf balls to build correct feels and solid ball compression.
